Little Baby & Co are a charity. They supply specialist gowns for very tiny babies under 16 weeks gestation who would otherwise be left naked in their passing. They have developed a special wrap over gown that allows such a fragile delicate baby to be dressed without having to manipulate a tiny head and arms. The baby is laid down and the flaps brought over their shoulders ...to the front whilst a ribbon is tied from the back to fasten the gown.
There is an urgent need for more gowns from one hospital/doula who has NOTHING left of the stock we gave and more requests from other hospitals who want them!
"For anyone who would like to make gowns for Little Baby & Co there are guidelines: because we are clothing such tiny fragile babies and often don’t know gender we stick to white, cream, lemon or mint, if using a pattern fabric the print needs to be small enough to not overwhelm the features of baby, and more importantly the fabric needs to be smooth such as satin/cotton etc We can’t use anything fluffy and absorbent like fleece, jersey, brushed cotton or anything coarse as it will rip baby’s skin or cause them to “stick” to the fabric which is devastating to the parents."
Instructions are included, along with the details of where to send the gowns once completed.
